You get hot days, you get cold days, you get days where you sneeze icicles, and you get days where you wish the heat would go back to where it came from so you could go back to sneezing icicles.
Today was one of those days, as in the first and fourth type. It was a scorcher to remember. And it goes along with the rest of the year too. The Northern hemisphere this year had its hottest Summer on record (you guys are so lucky that you are now having Winter) and globally this is predicted be the hottest year on record.
Now, when it comes down to beating the sweltering days like today, I find it's best to find a nice air-conditioned restaurant or corner cafe, sit down and spend the day buying cold-drinks. This keeps you company, indoors on a hot sun-burn day and keeps you hydrated.
You could also use a swimming pool and wash away the heat.
You could periodically take cold showers in an effort to keep cool.
If it's really bad, desperate measures should be taken. Once peeling yourself off the ground/ a chair/ the wall/ your bed, walk to the freezer or ice dispenser, not too fast to avoid heat-stroke. Then you take an ice cube. And suck it. As in, put the thing in your mouth, don't swallow because it'll get stuck in your throat, not too big a block because people will stare when your face turns lilac-blue.
And voilĂ , you have cooled down. Repeat for the next 6-8 hours and you should be set!
Enjoy your day and remember to buy an aircon in the near future.
