It's Furnace day today...

Carrying on from How to beat the heat, I must just say, that today is damn hot. It is too bright and hot with our South African weather to even consider going outside, the dogs have become semi-comatose in an attempt to stave off heat stroke and the birds have all hidden in the trees.

I have determined that the sun is currently enjoying a good old game of fire and yet more fire with my head. The temperature is a jaw melting 28 degrees Celsius in my cool room with a fan blowing at full speed. This is madness!

< It's so far away, but still so hot. 5505 °C hot at that on the surface.
No wonder we need sunblock to survive.

I have found that a wet face cloth is the only long-term solution to fighting this kind of heat. The kind of heat that melts thermometers.

I have just left mine in the sun for a while and it registers a mind-frying 42 °C! For any of you in the Southern hemisphere, I wish you a freezing cold night to even this out, and for those in the North, I ask for a donation of Aircons!

Cheers everyone and happy tanning.

South Africa...

For those of you who are weirdly interested in my life (internet stalkers, I'm looking at you...) I will tell you this, I live in the country South Africa. If you live in the Northern hemisphere, you probably know South Africa as that place with the damn vuvuzelas...
Damn noisy things...
But there's a little more to us than THAT, oh, wait, you probably also remember all our politicians with their tendencies...

But the place is not ALL bad, we provide the world with comic entertainment, and for the last 100 years we have only had two leaders who have not been viciously mocked through cartoons... We provide the caricaturists with excellent source material...

And despite all the bad, I like it here, we have great vibe and constant sirens keep one well alert and ready for the next day. Thank-you and good day, I must now barricade the windows and make sure that the cats are armed, ammunition for cat-paw sized glocks doesn't come cheap these days...
